Putting our hands to paper

From April 24 to 26, 2025, Bologna will host Fabriano in Acquarello, the international event dedicated to water-based painting on paper. 

The event will then move to the city of Fabriano on April 27th. 

With over 5,000 artists from 88 countries, the event will feature workshops, live demonstrations, and exhibitions, celebrating the global watercolor community.

Fabriano is proud to be supporting Fabriano in Acquarello 2024 for the third year running as its exclusive paper supply partner. First held in 2010 as an experimental project, Fabriano in Acquarello is now the largest event dedicated to watercolour painting in Italy, bringing together enthusiasts, amateurs, hobbyists and experts from all over the world. An international event attracting not only artists, but also the public and art lovers in general, focusing not only on celebrating the traditional artistic technique of watercolour, but also on innovation and experimentation, by connecting different generations and communities. This year, for the first time, FabrianoinAcquarello lands in Texas, in Fort Worth.

Fabriano is thrilled to be the official tech partner of the exhibition “La Maison de la Lune Brûlée” by Korean artist Lee Bae.
The Wilmotte Foundation hosts it from April 20th to November 24th, 2024 as a Collateral Event of the 60th International Art Exhibition at La Biennale di Venezia.
The exhibition curated by Valentina Buzzi presents South Korean artist Lee Bae’s homage and exploration of a century-old ritual known as Moonhouse Burning and explores the profound connection between humans and the natural world. Inside the exhibition hall, visitors will encounter various Brushstroke installations (2024) unfolding on both the floor and the walls of the foundation, which are coated with FABRIANO white paper through a special technique called “marouflage”. The Brushstroke installations are painted using charcoal paint derived from the Moonhouse combustion.
Organized by the Fondation d’Entreprise Wilmotte and the Hansol Foundation/Museum SAN. In collaboration with Johyun Gallery.

Fabriano is a partner of the new educational space Le lieu inspiré inaugurated on March 23rd in Le Bouscat, near Bordeaux, a new Art and educational centre around books. An event that saw the exceptional presence of a guest of honor, the famous French writer and illustrator Hervé Tullet, known in the world of children’s literature.
A space set up inside the former Peugeot garage, where 1200 square meters have been adapted to welcome families and offer cultural activities and the discovery of books for children.
A place that arises following the success of other similar realities born in Clermont-Ferrand and Geneva and that focus on the importance of the “Cultural Health” of individuals, especially the youngest.
Fabriano is proud to support activities that make cultural and artistic spaces accessible to all ages, essential for the complete development of every individual.
Children and adults are invited to explore together, to share a common experience through mini workshops, immersive artworks, and meetings with authors, illustrators, and artists.

Fabriano believes in the importance of drawing and is delighted to support for the second year the Milano Drawing Week 2023 as a technical partner of the event. Curated by Collezione Ramo it features a twelve location itinerary dedicated to drawing, which includes both contemporary artists and 20th century masters. A project which, under the patronage of the Municipality of Milan involves the entire city from the 25th of November to 3rd of December. As technical sponsor, this year Fabriano is providing 1000 Ecoqua Plus A5 notebooks customized for the event.

Since 2022, Fabriano has been a partner of Palazzo Maffei, a splendid museum house that serves as a reference point for art enthusiasts in the city of Verona and supports educational projects for primary and secondary schools. Fabriano is proud to support the museum’s educational proposal for children and young people, providing paper products for the realization of workshops. Once again, Fabriano stands alongside initiatives promoting the education of young people and students.

In 2021 we began a collaboration with MUSE – Trento Science Museum to create a Tinkering workshop for children aged 6 and over.
The Tinkering workshop starts from manipulating paper using imagination and manual skills, to transform a sheet into a small three-dimensional work of art.
An activity to encourage creativity and innovation, whilst developing imaginative solutions and stimulating resourcefulness. With the help of Fabriano paper.

More than 70,000 coloured crayons, over 50,000 sheets of Fabriano paper, and hundreds of children.

The Tarot Garden, a beautiful sculpture garden in the Tuscan Maremma near Capalbio (Gr), dedicated to the works of the artist Niki de Saint Phalle, has chosen Fabriano for the creation of an exclusive collection of products.
The collection is available in the Garden and in all the museums across the world that host the works of the Franco-American artist.

Fabriano paper was selected to represent Italian excellence at the G20 meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture, which was held in September 2021 at Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
Our goal was to create and donate products that expressed the values and quality of Made in Italy, so to accompany the work of the Ministers we chose two products: an Italian-produced artisan notepad holder, complete with an EcoQua notebook with customised cover.
