Raffaello
Sanzio

1483 - 1520, Artist

Watermarks from the city of Giano are the evidence that testify to Raffaello Sanzio’s, one of the masters of Italian Renaissance art, use of Fabriano papers. Raffaello-style marks have in fact been compared with historical watermarks dated 1293-1798 held by the Fedrigoni Fabriano Foundation. The result? Invaluable proof of the level of popularity that Fabriano papers had reached between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, so popular in fact that the paper mill’s products were used by one of the papal court’s most beloved artists.

Fabriano respects and values cultural heritage and, consequently, makes every reasonable effort to protect the intellectual property rights of third parties.
